Hi! We’re Andy and Suzie, a soon-to-be-married couple, fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers who now run Lincoln Lane Lakes. (Because who doesn’t plan a wedding and take on a fishing lake all at the same time?!)
We live in Market Rasen and have been regularly fishing this lake for the last five years or so, Andy more than Suzie admittedly. It’s only two miles away from home, so it’s ideal for getting him out from under my feet!
We’ve both been fishing since we were small. Andy mainly fished the rivers and lakes around Sleaford (often when he should have been at school), and I would fish reservoirs, lakes and lochs in Northumberland and Scotland for trout and course fish with my Dad.
My first job was in an outdoor pursuits shop, and I loved it. The best part was hearing the tales of big catches when customers came in, and I learned from a very young age what a man’s idea of a big one really meant!!

Why Lincoln Lane Lakes?
Apart from us living close by, we both love fishing here. The regulars are the best people, always friendly, welcoming and up for a bit of banter here and there. No one is ever made to feel unwelcome, whether it’s your first visit or your hundred and first.
When the last manager left, it was uncertain whether the lake could carry on. Not wanting this little hidden gem to sit dormant, after much consideration, we spoke with the owner and agreed to take it on.
And that as they say, is that.

What's happening at the Lake?
Our main priority is the fish. They’ve always been kept to an impeccable standard and extremely well cared for so we needed to make sure that was happening immediately.
We’ve cleared some of the woodland to make it more hospitable for the masses of local wildlife and more pleasing to look at. We’ve planted hundreds of bulbs—much to Andy’s delight—and spread thousands of wildflower seeds so far.
Next is sorting out the erosion to ensure the longevity of the lake and make sure all pegs are 100% safe to use. We’ll also be sorting out drainage so that the site doesn’t become waterlogged on wet days.
We’re hoping by summer to have some accommodation finished, including something brand new to the lake. The static caravan will be up and running by the beginning of Summer and can be hired for a relaxing fishing break from two nights to a full week.
There’s lots more in store, but we’ll keep you updated in our blog, Life on the Lake.
Tight Lines,
Andy and Suzie
