Learn to Fish in a Relaxed, Friendly Environment
Whether you’ve never picked up a fishing rod before, you’re looking to build your confidence, or you simply want to learn the basics properly, our fishing lessons at Lincoln Lane Lakes are designed to give you plenty of practical experience with guidance from our experienced coaches.
Each session lasts around 3 hours and costs £40 per person, with all tackle and bait included.
You don’t need to arrive with expensive equipment or know what you’re doing. We’ll provide what you need and take you through everything step by step.
Small Group Fishing Lessons
To make sure everyone gets plenty of hands-on help, our fishing lessons are kept to small groups of no more than 4 people. This gives you the chance to learn alongside others while still getting individual guidance from our coaches throughout the session. It also keeps things relaxed, friendly and practical, with plenty of time to ask questions and try different techniques for yourself.
What Will You Learn?
Fishing can seem complicated when you’re first getting started, so our lessons focus on giving you a good understanding of the basics as well as plenty of time actually fishing.
During your session, you’ll learn things such as:
- How to tie hooks and basic fishing rigs
- How to set up and use fishing tackle
- How to use a rod and reel
- How to fish with a pole or whip
- The differences between fishing methods and which you prefer
- Different types of bait and when and how to use them
- Basic casting techniques
- How to recognise bites and strike correctly
- How to safely land and handle your catch
- Practical tips that will help you become a more confident angler
We’ll give you the opportunity to try different methods rather than simply teaching one style of fishing, helping you discover what feels most comfortable and enjoyable for you.
Then It’s Time to Fish
Once we’ve covered the basics, you’ll move on to the practical part of the session and fish at Lincoln Lane Lakes under the guidance of one of our experienced coaches.
They’ll be there to help with everything from casting and bait presentation to recognising bites, landing fish and adjusting your approach if things aren’t quite working.
The focus is on learning while actually fishing, rather than spending the whole session listening to instructions on the bank.
And, of course, hopefully putting a few fish in the net along the way!
Keep Fishing After Your Lesson
Your session doesn’t have to end when the three-hour lesson finishes.
You’re welcome to stay and continue fishing afterwards, giving you the chance to put everything you’ve learned into practice independently.
If your coach is still around and you need a little extra help, they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
It’s a great way to build your confidence while everything you’ve learned is still fresh.

Fishing Lessons at Lincoln Lane Lakes
Lincoln Lane Lakes is all about good, honest fishing, and our lessons follow exactly the same approach.
There’s no pressure and no expectation that you should already know the terminology or understand the different fishing methods. Our coaches will meet you at your level, answer your questions and help you learn at your own pace.
Whether this is your introduction to fishing or you’ve already had a go and want someone to show you how to do things properly, our sessions are designed to give you the skills and confidence to enjoy fishing for yourself.

We usually hold sessions on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays. When booking, please select your preferred date; although this cannot be guaranteed, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Terms & Conditions
Fishing lessons must be booked and paid for in advance. All participants must follow the instructions of our coaches and comply with Lincoln Lane Lakes’ rules while on site.
Tackle and bait are provided for use during the session. Participants are responsible for treating all equipment with care.
Fishing is affected by weather, water conditions and fish behaviour, so while our coaches will do everything they can to help you catch, catches cannot be guaranteed.
Lincoln Lane Lakes reserves the right to amend, postpone or cancel sessions where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. Our standard cancellation policy applies to customer cancellations.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or rearrange your fishing lesson, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
If Lincoln Lane Lakes needs to cancel a session due to poor weather, unsafe conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, you’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
