What a Day! 30 Kids Learned to Fish at Our First-Ever Fishing Fun Fest

Wow – we’re still buzzing from our Kids Fishing Fun Fest on Friday 24th May!

With the sun (sort of) shining and rods at the ready, we welcomed over 200 people through the gates for a brilliant day of fishing, fun, and community spirit. Most importantly, 30 children -and some adults – took part in our “Have a Go” sessions – and for many, it was their very first time learning to fish.

From the tiny 1-year-olds confidently holding a rod, to the proud teens catching their first fish, it was a joy to see so many young people connecting with nature and learning something new in a safe, encouraging environment.

But the day didn’t stop at fishing – families also enjoyed:

  • Craft tables and tombola
  • Delicious local food and snacks
  • A bouncy castle
  • Sunshine, laughter, and lakeside views!

And thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic £285 for Mind, a charity doing vital work for mental health. Whether you bought a raffle ticket, donated at a stall, or simply came along to support – thank you.

We couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out, seeing children catch their first fish and hearing the cheers from parents and volunteers – it was magical. And to raise money for Mind at the same time? That’s what it’s all about.

We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing team of volunteers, stallholders, local supporters – and of course, all the families who came out and made it such a special day. This was our very first Kids Fishing Fun Fest… and we’re already dreaming about next year.
